For maximum food storage times, Mylar bags should be used. Choose from the following sizes:
- 50 small 6" x 9.75" resealable bags ($20)
- 50 medium 8" x 12" bags ($21)
- 50 large 10" x 14" bags ($26)
It is not necessary to vacuum-seal the bags, but they do need to be heat-sealed. If you don't already have a heat sealer, you may buy one here. (A free heat sealer is included with the purchase of any Harvest Right Freeze Dryer.)
It is also necessary to add one oxygen absorber to each sealed bag.
Note that small, medium & large bag sizes have nothing to do with small, medium & large freeze dryers. They simply indicate the amount of freeze-dried food they will hold.
